Rock^2

I found a collection with over 1,000 dirty, old, sliced rocks at a garage sale. I bout the whole lot. Here's why... This rock was collected 50-70 years ago, likely by hand, on public land before it was under claim and mined commercially with heavy machinery. It displays larger, rarer, higher quality specimens than can be found by rock hound hobbyists today. The rock was sliced, probably to sell for jewelry, and already locked like little paintings. As an artist and a rock hound, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to make this rock shine and complete a project a half century in the making. This vintage stock collection was found in Ogden, Utah and contains rock exclusively from the mountain west. It is beautiful representation of what lies within these mountains we call home.
